REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR

Words by Don Reid, Music by Don Reid and Sammy Kaye

His-to-ry in ev-'ry cen-tu-ry
re-cords an act that lives for-e-ver-more.
We'll re-call, as in-to line we fall,
the thing that hap-pened on Ha-wa-ii's shore.

Chorus
Let's RE-MEM-BER PEARL HAR-BOR
As we go to meet the foe.
Let's RE-MEM-BER PEARL HAR-BOR
As we did the A-la-mo.

We will al-ways re-mem-ber
how they died for Li-ber-ty
Let's RE-MEM-BER PEARL HAR-BOR
And go on to vic - to - ry.

Let's RE-MEM-BER PEARL HAR-BOR
As we go to meet the foe.
Let's RE-MEM-BER PEARL HAR-BOR
As we did the A-la-mo.

We will al-ways re-mem-ber
how they died for Li-ber-ty
Let's RE-MEM-BER PEARL HAR-BOR
And go on to vic - to - ry.

"Thanks For The Memory"

Official Force Song
Amphibious Training Command U.S. Atlantic Fleet

FIGHTING AMPHIBIANS
"Chorus"

Sail for the beach, Fighting Amphibians,
We land at break of day.
Vict'rys in reach, Fighting Amphibians,
Again we lead the way.

And when they write the History of the way
The War was really won,
The world will acclaim Men of the landing force
With "Amphibians, Well done."

Verse 1

Amphibians, Men of the landing force,
Amphibians, charting A Vict'ry course.
The APA's and AKA's Hurling assault boat waves
Make every Jap and all the Huns learn To fear Amphibians!

Verse 2

Amphibians, Alligator guys,
Amphibians, some of the greater Guys,
The LCI's and LCT's and LSM's and LST's
Salute our mighty landing Fleet, a navy in itself complete!

"Chorus"

Words and Music by Lt. Warren J. Ayers, USNR
Commanding Officer LSM- 317
Warren J. Ayres, Lt., writer of "Fighting Amphibians," Copyright 1944, 1945 Carl Fischer, Inc., New York

Warren Joyce Ayres had many articles written about him. One of which describes him as "patriotic, loyal, friendly, well loved." He had a motto that we in the ad industry can all live by…"the person with the best idea – wins!" A graduate of the UNL in 1930 he had his first job working in advertising/public relations for the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navel Reserve during WWII and spent three years in the Pacific. During that time he wrote the words and music for what would become the official Navy amphibious song "Fighting Amphibians".
