Letter To The Editor - Alligator Alley

Hi Dan,
The former shipmates of the LSM 462 had their second reunion in Nashville, Tennessee recently. Six guys with their mates met at the Inn at Opryland (formerly a Ramada, not to be confused with the Opryland Hotel) June 1st through 3rd.  Everyone had a wonderful time.  Speaking for the wives (as Jeanne says) the most fun was listening to the sailors tell (retell) their sea stories.

One of the highlights was dinner at the Cock of the Walk, a well known catfish restaurant.  When we spotted this giant rocker, the guys just had to see if all six could get in it.  As you can see, four were successful.

The dinner cruise on the General Jackson probably got everyone's vote for their favorite thing to do.  It was a night to remember.  We will all remember it for a long time.

The guys decided to have their 3rd reunion in 1999 in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Nation Convention.  We look foward to a wonderful time then.

Dan, I hope you can use this information and the photo in the next "Alligator Alley."

Sincerely, Lecil Evans
